Hot Photos of Vidya Balan - Vidya Balan born 1 January 1978 is an Indian actress, who appears mainly in Hindi films, in addition to Bengali and Malayalam films. Vidya Balan has earned brownie points for performing Lavani in forthcoming film Ferrari Ki Sawaari, but the actress says the act didn't come easy as she isn't really a dancer. "I think I enjoyed this dance a lot. I have enjoyed all the roles I have played, but I didn't think I would enjoy dancing so much because I am not really a dancer, I have to put in a lot of effort," the 33-year-old said here.

"But we worked hard, and when I reached the set we went mad dancing," she added.

The song in the Sharman Joshi-starrer is called Mala jao dya na ghari, and Vidya is seen wearing a traditional Maharashtrian attire in red. She trained for three weeks with a troupe from Kolhapur before giving the final Lavani shot.

Describing the song, Vidya said: "I can't believe I got an opportunity to dance to this one. It's so much of nautanki (entertainment), adaa (grace), nazaakat (elegance), so much of energy, so crazy." (sources from bollywod.com).

Vidya was born in Palghat, Kerala, India. Her family consists of her dad, P.R. Balan, who is the Vice-President of ETC Channel; mom - a home-maker, and an elder sister, Priya, who is married to Kedar. She also has an aunt by the name of Raji Raju.

The Balan family re-located to live at Road No. 11, near Ambedkar Garden, Chembur, Bombay, when Vidya was very young. She studied in St. Anthony's Convent School, and thereafter in St. Xavier's College from where she obtained a degree in Sociology. She then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Sociology from Bombay University.

She also studied and performed in Prithvi Theaters' workshops. Due to tradition of most Tamil-Iyer families, Vidya and her Priya learned Carnatic dance form during their early childhood days, but Vidya opted out as the dance classes took place early on Sunday mornings and as she is not an early riser.

Considerably overweight, rather tomboyish, during her school-days, and an ardent fan of Shahrukh Khan, she decided to shed those extra pounds when she elected to opt for modeling and movies.

Facing disappointment after being rejected by a Tamil producer, she nevertheless persisted until she got her first break with a Malyalam movie 'Chakram' opposite Mohanlal, however, the project was shelved, and she had to wait until 1998 to debut in a Surf Excel commercial. She then went on to appear in several commercials directed by Pradeep Sarkar. She completed nearly 90 such ads.

She appeared in three music videos for Pankaj Udhas, Euphoria, and Shubha Mudgal in supporting roles. She then also appeared in two TV serials Ekta Kapoor's 'Hum Paanch', and Ashok Pandit's 'Hanste Khelte'.

During 2003 she was signed-up to play a role in a Bengali movie 'Bhaalo Theko' opposite Joy Sengupta. This project was completed during the year 2006, and was a considerable hit.

Then during 2006 Vidya was approached by Vidhu Vinod Chopra during a pop-concert in Mumbai to play a lead role in 'Parineeta'. She then had to undergo 17 make-up shoots and 40 screen tests before being chosen for this role. All this hard work did result in success as 'Parineeta' was very well received so much so that the Tamil producer, who had previously rejected her, invited her to appear in a 'Dasavatharam' opposite Kamal Hassan, and now it was Vidya's turn to reject this offer which eventually went to 'Asin'.

Apart from acting, Vidya occupies herself for supporting education for young Indians by promoting children's' books; is associated with Americans for Aids Research; with Hale House - that provides support and housing for children born with HIV and drug abuse; as well as hosting forums and attending events for Harvard Aids Institute.

Single, never involved in any relationship or scandal, she claims to get along well with both female and male friends.

For example, once she was returning from a studio after recording with a not-so-great musician. I was accompanying her, as it was a holiday. She suddenly said, "Maybe I should go back to the studio and give it another take. I think I can make it better," and then she drove right back to the studio.

The “One Less Lonely Girl” crooner definitely didn’t disappoint his followers, as both the track and the treatment were top-notch.

Set on a Los Angeles rooftop, among other spots, Bieber’s video sees him getting flirty with a girl who somewhat resembles his real-life main squeeze Selena Gomez.

The video’s director, Director X, explained, "You know, I guess Justin has a type that he likes, so hey, you know, there you go.”

One of the song’s producers Mike Posner shared that working with Justin was quite the gig. "Justin's super hands-on with his music. He comes up with amazing melodies — that's what I was most impressed by. We'd put on a beat or something, and he goes into a booth, and he freestyles these melodies, and they're crazy."

Pia Toscano Releases This Time - Many of the former American Idol who did not succeed in popularizing his albums, but the good news is that former contestant Pia Toscano seems to already be spreading her musical wings with the release her first music video, for the song This Time, and it's actually not that bad. I'm a big fan of the song itself, so on it's own is good enough for me, but the music video sets the mood for the message the song is trying to get across.

The singer is shown driving in a blue convertible or staring out into the ocean on a beach while singing lyrics like, "I'm gonna free myself, gonna make a change. And like a butterfly, I'mma spread my wings." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put together that driving a car signifies leaving the past behind, while the waves and changing tide represent starting over. It's not ground-breaking when it comes to music videos (she's no Lady Gaga...yet anyways), but the song is strong enough to support a video of average quality.

Toscano was signed to Interscope Records soon after her elimination. She is said to be working on her first album, which will come out in the fall.
